The PD Committee has the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!
The Professional Development Committee provides a variety of programming opportunities for IABC members including hosting speakers, teleseminars, social and networking events, roundtables, and workshops. Programs are developed using feedback from our members, and by looking at current affairs and trends in the communications profession.
PD volunteers can take on a number of rolls including helping with meeting and greeting, managing programs, and organizing and marketing special events.
The time commitment for this position varies according to your interest and availability; it can be as little as a few hours a month to a larger commitment for event organizers. Tasks vary but may include securing the location and catering for events (tbd), setting up events in the on-line registration system, providing promotional write-ups and ensuring events are marketed through appropriate channels, organizing and managing events, staffing the registration table, welcoming members, liaising with presenters, and providing post-event reports. Committee members will have a monthly PD committee meeting.
Volunteers should have excellent people management and organization skills. Experience in event marketing, planning and management is a plus.
